Settled Youth was founded in 2010. The purpose of this program is to help uplift, encourage, and instill positive attitudes within every youth that participates in it. Our mission is to transform as many youth as we can from the stinking thinking that has over taken them. And most importantly we strive to develop them to become leaders in their neighborhoods and in society.
This program originally started as an all girl 45 day youth empowerment camp and mentoring program. After a successful completion of this program we decided to extend it to all the youth in our community. We are a Christian non-profit organization that is designed to help settle our youth in today’s unsettled society. We believe that there is hope for this generation and those that follow if we start now by changing their mind sets.
The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it”. We strive to take our youth to another level in their thinking by breaking the barriers that society, friends, family and our communities have placed on them. We take them from I Can’t to I CAN. We turn their Negatives outlooks into Positive outlooks. We want them to know that they are more than conquerors!
We are living in a time now where we are losing our youth to violence, drugs, teen pregnancies, accelerated school drop outs and troubled teens. its time to break this vicious cycle and take back our youth from these negative influences. We want our youth to be Settled in their spirits by knowing who they are within themselves and not be settled in any negative environment that may surround them.
We now have in place a year round program that offers a variety of services to our children. These services include after school tutoring, 365 day youth challenge program, mentoring, counseling and summer academic and social activities.
